Chefs For Louisiana Cookery

Friends of James Beard Benefit

Over 25 of the State’s most celebrated chefs will join forces to raise funds for the James Beard Foundation – America’s leading culinary nonprofit. Chefs are teaming up with the people who grow, fish, harvest and produce the ingredients that make our cuisine famous. The result is a menu that’s a testament to Louisiana and its quality native ingredients.

All chefs participating in this event have either cooked at the James Beard House in New York or have been recognized through their awards program. As many of you know Gason was awarded the coveted James Beard Scholarship twice while he was in culinary school. http://www.louisianacookery.com/2010/01/vip-package.html He has since decided to form his own culinary scholarship under the James Beard Foundation. This scholarship will be available beginning in 2011.

Please come out to support this wonderful organization and great cause. http://www.louisianacookery.com/2010/01/tickets.html The event will include a silent auction benefiting the James Beard Foundation as well as a general store with proceeds going to the Kingsley House. http://www.louisianacookery.com/2010/01/silent-auction.html The Kingsley House is the oldest settlement house in the South and helps more than 7,000 people annually through nationally accredited and state certified community building programs.

Hope to see you there.
